    Summer trusts in the therapeutic process. She truly believes that by changing your beliefs and recognizing and resolving problematic behaviors or issues, it is possible for one to heal.

    Her therapeutic style is direct but compassionate. Our thoughts determine our feelings and our behavior. She uses a Cognitive Behavioral approach to therapy and believes therapy is successful when one is able to change unhelpful thinking and behavior as well as instill healthy coping skills and positive self image. Summer specializes in working with children ages 4 years- 18 years, women, and families.

    She has 5 years of experience in working with children and adolescents with bipolar diagnosis, Oppositional Defiance Disorder, Attention Deficit Disorder, eating disorders, and depression. She worked on the family preservation unit at Dallas Metrocare Services and strongly believes parental involvement is crucial in the child’s development and healing. Her experience is working with the parents and children on anger management techniques, parenting skills, social skills, coping strategies, and suicidal assessments. She also has experience in working with adolescents and women with anxiety, depression, and self harm behaviors. Summer most recently completed an internship at Family Place where she worked solely with women who were victims of domestic violence. Educational background includes achieving a B.S. in psychology and M.S. in Counseling and Development. She is licensed by the Texas Board of Professional Counselors as well as The National Board of Certified Counselors. Summer is able to bill out of network and paneled with Blue Cross Blue Shield.
