Nicole Tatum, LPC Associate supervised by Jane Kong, LPC-S

I am a bilingual (English/Spanish) counselor with a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. I work with individuals ages 10 and up, as well as couples and families. I’m especially passionate about supporting adolescents, the neurodivergent community, and the LGBTQ+ population, and creating a space where people feel safe, understood, and empowered to be their authentic selves.
I work with clients navigating a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, life transitions, grief, identity exploration, and relationship challenges. Whether you’re figuring things out for the first time or working through something that’s been weighing on you for a while, I’m here to support you without judgment.
My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and adaptable. While I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I also integrate techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), tailoring each session to meet your unique needs.
In addition to my private practice work, I’m also a provider for the Family Tree Program, which offers free short-term counseling for families in Denton and Dallas Counties with children between the ages of 6 and 17.
I offer both in-person and telehealth sessions, and currently accept Cigna and Aetna insurance. My schedule includes afternoons, evenings, and Sundays, so we can find a time that works for you.
If you’re ready to get started, or just want to learn more, I’d love to connect and see how I can support you on your journey.
