Kelly Knight, MA, LPC, EMDR Trained
We all have ups and downs, and the roadblocks in particular can wreak havoc on our ability to function in our daily lives. Kelly believes counseling can help individuals learn to tap into their own unique strengths, learn to calm the mind, and focus on feeling better. She is real, open, non-judgmental, and strives to help clients discover options, redefine realities, develop and attain goals, and build effective skills that can improve quality of life.
Kelly welcomes adults and adolescents who are experiencing issues such as chronic pain and illness, ADHD, family and relationship issues, anxiety, depression, and grief utilizing evidence based therapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), and Mindfulness that have been shown to improve the way we relate to stress.
Kelly’s professional career has ventured from corporate marketing to creative self-employment as a photographer to a meaningful career in counseling. She also lives with chronic pain and illness and can easily relate to the challenges of balancing work, family, and social life. She feels her secrets to managing her own personal stressors are self-awareness, embracing change, self-compassion, mindfulness, and creating purpose and goals in life.
