• Jolee Cave, LPC Associate, supervised by Jane Kong, LPC-S

Jolee is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate supervised by Jane Kong LPC-S. Jolee earned her Masters of Education degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lamar University and her Bachelors of Science in Psychology from The University of Texas at Austin. She has a background working as a Registered Behavior Therapist with children on the autism spectrum, sexual assault advocate in medical and legal settings, and a crisis counselor for a suicide hotline. She completed her clinical internship at a family violence center where she supported survivors of various backgrounds facing difficult life transitions, impacts of trauma, grief, lost self-identity, financial and legal burdens, and shame. During this internship, she facilitated a teen group focused on teaching emotional regulation tools, healthy versus unhealthy relationship dynamics, autonomy, and safety.

Jolee’s approach is rooted in Acceptance and Commitment therapy and Narrative therapy through a trauma-informed lens. She incorporates psychoeducation, mindfulness skills, and grounding exercises as appropriate to support clients’ needs. Jolee believes that healing does not mean the absence of pain but rather the ability to honor one’s emotions and trust their strengths to carry them through life’s challenges. She sees clients as experts of their own story and aims to create a safe, collaborative environment for clients to identify their values along with realistic, meaningful steps forward. Jolee works with adolescents and adults, including survivors of violence and trauma, neurodivergent individuals, LGBTQ+ clients, and those navigating anxiety, self-harm, and grief. She is able to see clients both in-person and through telehealth and has availability for afternoon, evening, and Saturday appointments.
